Preface Pier Luigi Parcu, Giorgio Monti, Marco Botta The present volume represents one of the outcomes of the project `European Networking
and Training for National Competition Enforcers' (ENTraNCE for Judges). The project is organised by the Robert Schuman Centre for
Advanced Studies (RSCAS) of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (Italy) and co-financed by DG Competition of the
European Commission. Over 250 national judges from 24 EU Member States have attended this training programme since 2011. The programme
includes both residential training in Florence as well as online activities. Each year the training focuses on a different aspect
of competition law enforcement that is relevant to the national judiciary. The present volume represents the final outcome of the
sixth edition of ENTraNCE for Judges. ENTraNCE for Judges 2016 focused on private enforcement of EU competition law in the aftermath
of the Damages Directive. The present volume includes contributions from the speakers who intervened in the context of the residential
training of ENTraNCE for Judges 2016 in Florence. In addition, the three editors of the book have actively been involved in the organisation
of ENTraNCE Judges since its first edition: Professor Parcu is the Director of the programme; Professor Monti acts as Scientific
Coordinator; finally, Dr Botta deals with the organisation of the residential and online activities of the training programme.
