Abstract/Description:
This chapter focuses on modern Greek copyright legislation, Law 2121/1993 and the recent case law in the era of information society. The Law 2121/1993 has been harmonized with Directive 2001/29/EC regarding the author's economic rights, the limitations and exceptions to the exclusive rights, the technological measures and the rights-management information, as well as regarding the sanctions and remedies in the case of copyright infringement and in the case of the circumvention of a technological measure or the removal/alteration of rights-management information from a work. Furthermore, it provides an insight into the new Law 4481/2017 and its major amendments to Copyright Law in Greece especially on the collective management framework and the new Committee for the Notification of Copyright and Related Rights Infringement on the Internet.
