An Ordinance to amend the Canberra Institute of the Arts Ordinance 1988

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Canberra Institute of the Arts (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.¹

Principal Ordinance

2. In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Canberra Institute of the Arts Ordinance 1988.²

Functions of Council

3. Section 20 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end the following subsection:

“(3) The Council may report in writing to the Minister on any matter relating to—

(a) the functions, or the performance of the functions, of the Council; or

(b) the functions, or the performance of the functions, of the Institute.”.

Higher education administration charge

4. Section 38 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (b) of the definition of “relevant enrolment” in subsection (1) all words after “where” and substituting “a fee of the kind referred to in paragraph 37 (2) (f) is imposed”.

Schedule

5. The Principal Ordinance is amended as set out in the Schedule.
