An Ordinance to amend the Electricity and Water Ordinance 1988

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Electricity and Water (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.¹

Principal Ordinance

2. In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Electricity and Water Ordinance 1988.²

Powers

3. Section 6 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (1) (f) “, treat and reticulate” and substituting “and treat”.

Termination of appointment

4. Section 21 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) “or his” and substituting “of his”.

Chief Executive Officer—termination of appointment

5. Section 29 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) “is” and substituting “his”.

Payments of charges etc.

6. Section 50 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (5) “with” and substituting “within”.

Interpretation

7. Section 52 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (2) all the words after “would be” (last occurring) and substituting “, if it were done, an offence against this Ordinance or the regulations”.

Repeal

8. Section 57 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed.

Interference with apparatus etc.

9. Section 76 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of the penalty set out at the foot of the section “or imprisonment for 6 months”.
