Remuneration (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 1989

An Ordinance to amend certain Ordinances in relation to remuneration
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Remuneration (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 1989.1
2. The Ordinances specified in the Schedule are amended as set out in the Schedule.
SCHEDULE Section 2
AMENDMENTS OF OTHER ORDINANCES
Agents Ordinance 1968
Section 11
Repeal the section, substitute the following section:
“11. (1) A member shall be paid such remuneration and allowances as are prescribed.
“(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to—
(a) remuneration if there is a subsisting determination relating to the remuneration to be paid to a member; or
(b) an allowance of a particular kind if there is a subsisting determination relating to an allowance of that kind to be paid to a member.
“(3) In subsection (2), ‘determination’ means a determination of the Remuneration Tribunal.”.
Architects Ordinance 1959
Section 8
Repeal the section, substitute the following section:
“8. (1) A member shall be paid such remuneration and allowances as are prescribed.
“(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to—
(a) remuneration if there is a subsisting determination relating to the remuneration to be paid to a member; or
(b) an allowance of a particular kind if there is a subsisting determination relating to an allowance of that kind to be paid to a member.
“(3) In subsection (2), ‘determination’ means a determination of the Remuneration Tribunal.”.
Betting (Totalizator Agency) Ordinance 1964
Section 35J
Repeal the section, substitute the following section:
“35J. (1) A member shall be paid such remuneration and allowances as are prescribed.
“(2) The Minister may make regulations for the purposes of subsection (1).
“(3) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to—
(a) remuneration if there is a subsisting determination relating to the remuneration to be paid to a member; or
(b) an allowance of a particular kind if there is a subsisting determination relating to an allowance of that kind to be paid to a member.
“(4) In subsection (3), ‘determination’ means a determination of the Remuneration Tribunal.”.

Section 17
Repeal the section, substitute the following section:
“17. (1) A member shall be paid such remuneration and allowances as are prescribed.
“(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to—
(a) remuneration if there is a subsisting determination relating to the remuneration to be paid to a member; or
(b) an allowance of a particular kind if there is a subsisting determination relating to an allowance of that kind to be paid to a member.

Omit the subsection.
After section 24
Insert the following section:
“24A. (1) A member shall be paid such remuneration and allowances as are prescribed.

(b) an allowance of a particular kind if there is a subsisting determination relating to an allowance of that kind to be paid to a trustee.

“187A. The Minister may grant leave of absence to a member, or to a person appointed to act as a member, upon such terms and conditions as to remuneration or otherwise as the Minister determines.
