Stock (Amendment) Ordinance 1986

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Stock Ordinance 1934
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Stock (Amendment) Ordinance 1986.1
Commencement
2. This Ordinance shall come into operation on such date as is fixed by the Minister of State for Territories by notice in the Gazette.
Principal Ordinance
3. In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Stock Ordinance 1934.2
Interpretation
4. Section 4 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after the definition of “Controller” the following definition:
Application to record brands and marks
5. Section 18 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) all the words after “with” and substituting “the determined fee.”.
Brands allotted to each owner
6. Section 22 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (5) “together with the fee specified in the Second Schedule to this Ordinance” and substituting “, together with the determined fee”.
Power of Minister to determine fees
7. After section 38 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is inserted:
“38A. The Minister may, by notice in writing published in the Gazette, determine fees for the purposes of this Ordinance.”.
Repeal of Second Schedule
8. The Second Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is repealed.
