A Bill for an Act to close the Student Financial
Supplement Scheme to applications from 1 January 2004
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Family and Community Services (Closure of
Student Financial Supplement Scheme) Act 2003.
This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal
Assent.
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or
repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any
other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its
terms.

Note: The Student Financial Supplement Scheme is closed to
applications from 1 January 2004 (see Part 2B.1A).

Chapter 2B
Insert:
The object of this Part is to close the Student Financial Supplement
Scheme to applications from 1 January 2004.
For the purpose of this Chapter, a person is not eligible to obtain
financial supplement for an eligibility period that begins on or after
1 January 2004.

(4) This section does not apply in relation to a period that is the whole
or part of a year if the year begins on or after 1 January 2004.
