AUSTRALIA COUNCIL AMENDMENT ACT 1976 No. 113 of 1976 - SECT 16

16. Section 28 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting sub- sections (5)
and (6) and substituting the following sub-section:-

''(5) At any time when a person is acting as Chairman of a Board-

   (a)  he has, and may exercise, all the powers and shall perform all the
        functions of the Chairman;

   (b)  if he is not a member of that Board, he shall be deemed to be a member
        of that Board for the purposes of sub-sections 29 (4) and (7) and
        section 31; and

   (c)  he shall be deemed to be a member of the Council by virtue of
        paragraph 9 (2) (b).''.
