ABORIGINAL LAND GRANT (JERVIS BAY TERRITORY) ACT 1986 No. 164 of 1986 - SECT 8

8. (1) As soon as practicable after the first annual general meeting, the
Minister-

   (a)  shall sign an instrument that declares that, at the time at which a
        copy of the instrument is given to the Chairperson, the Schedule Land
        shall become Aboriginal Land; and

   (b)  shall give a copy of the instrument, or cause a copy of the instrument
        to be given, to the Chairperson.

(2) At the time at which the instrument referred to in sub-section (1) is
given to the Chairperson in accordance with paragraph (1) (b), the Schedule
Land becomes Aboriginal Land.

(3) As soon as practicable after the Minister has complied with sub-section
(1), the Minister shall cause to be published in the Gazette a notice stating
that the Schedule Land has become Aboriginal Land.

(4) Any failure to comply with the requirements of sub-section (3) does not
affect the operation of sub-section (1).
