AUSTRALIAN MEAT AND LIVE-STOCK RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ACT 1985 No. 12 of 1985 - SECT 17

17. (1) The Minister may terminate the appointment of a member for
misbehaviour or physical or mental incapacity.

(2) If-

   (a)  a member becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for
        the relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his or her
        creditors or makes an assignment of his or her remuneration for their
        benefit;

   (b)  a member fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with his or her
        obligations under section 18;

   (c)  the Chairperson is absent, except with the leave of the Minister, from
        3 consecutive meetings of the Corporation; or

   (d)  a member other than the Chairperson is absent, except with the leave
        of the Chairperson, from 3 consecutive meetings of the Corporation,
        the Minister shall terminate the appointment of the member concerned.

(3) This section does not apply to the member who is the Executive Director.
