AUSTRALIAN NUCLEAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ORGANISATION ACT 1987 No. 3 of 1987 - SECT 18

18. (1) There shall be an Executive Director of the Organisation, who shall be
appointed by the Board.

(2) A person who has attained the age of 65 years shall not be appointed as
Executive Director and a person shall not be appointed as Executive Director
for a period that extends beyond the day on which the person will attain the
age of 65 years.

(3) A member of the staff of the Organisation shall not-

   (a)  be present during a deliberation of the Board with respect to the
        appointment of the Executive Director; or

   (b)  take part in the making of a decision with respect to such an
        appointment, and a quorum for the purposes of such a deliberation or
        decision is a majority of the non-staff members for the time being
        holding office.
