AUSTRALIAN NUCLEAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ORGANISATION ACT 1987 No. 3 of 1987 - SECT 27
Money of Organisation
27. (1) There is payable to the Organisation such money as is appropriated by
the Parliament for the purposes of the Organisation.
(2) The Minister for Finance may give directions as to the amounts in which,
and the times at which, money referred to in sub-section (1) is to be paid to
the Organisation.
(3) The money of the Organisation shall be applied only-
(a) in payment or discharge of the expenses, charges, obligations and
liabilities incurred or undertaken by the Organisation in the
performance of its functions and the exercise of its powers;
(b) in payment of remuneration and allowances payable under this Act; and
(c) in making any other payments required or permitted to be made by the
Organisation.
(4) Money of the Organisation not immediately required for the purposes of the
Organisation may be invested-
(a) on deposit with the Reserve Bank of Australia or any other bank
approved by the Treasurer;
(b) in securities of the Commonwealth; or
(c) in any other manner approved by the Treasurer.
