CUSTOMS LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1992 No. 209 of 1992 - SECT 13

13.(1) Section 71B of the Principal Act is amended:
(a) by omitting from subsection (8) "doing duty in relation to import
entries";

   (b)  by omitting subparagraph (8)(b)(ii) and substituting the following
        subparagraph:

"(ii) by signing and serving a notice of the kind referred to in paragraph (a)
on the registered COMPILE user to whom the authority was given, or, if that
person does not have possession of the goods, on the person who has possession
of the goods;".

(2) Section 71B of the Principal Act is further amended by inserting after
subsection (3) the following subsection:

"(3A) An authority to deal may not be issued unless a cargo clearance advice
authorising the goods the subject of the import entry advice to be released
for home consumption or warehousing has first been issued under section 74A.".
