DEFENCE HOUSING AUTHORITY ACT 1987 No. 101 of 1987 - SECT 20
Disclosure of interests
20. (1) A member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in a matter
being considered, or about to be considered, by the Authority (whether at a
meeting or otherwise) shall, as soon as practicable after the relevant facts
have come to the member's knowledge, disclose the nature of the interest at a
meeting of the Authority.
(2) A disclosure under subsection (1) shall be recorded in the minutes of the
meeting of the Authority and the member shall not, unless the Minister or the
Authority otherwise determines:
(a) be present during any deliberation of the Authority with respect to
the matter; or
(b) take part in any decision of the Authority with respect to the matter.
(3) For the purpose of the making of a determination by the Authority under
subsection (2) in relation to a member who has made a disclosure under
subsection (1), any member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in
the matter to which the disclosure relates shall not:
(a) be present during any deliberation of the Authority for the purpose of
making the determination; or
(b) take part in the making of the determination by the Authority.
(4) A member shall not be taken to have a pecuniary interest in a matter only
because the member is the tenant of a house rented from the Authority.
