Health Legislation Amendment Act 1984 No. 135 of 1984 - SECT 28

28. Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended-
(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) "the next sub-section" and substituting
"sub-sections (2), (4) and (5)"; and

   (b)  by adding at the end thereof the following sub-sections:



"(4) An allowance under sub-section (1) shall not be granted to, or in respect
of, a sufferer from tuberculosis unless the allowance is granted pursuant to
an application or claim lodged before 1 November 1984 in accordance with the
determination made under sub-section (2).



"(5) An allowance under sub-section (1) shall not be granted to, or in respect
of , a dependant of a sufferer from tuberculosis if, by virtue of sub-section
(4), an allowance under sub-section (1) is not payable to, or in respect of,
the sufferer.".
