LIFE INSURANCE ACT 1995 No. 4 of 1995 - SECT 18

18. A person is not taken to be carrying on life business merely because the
person:

   (a)  collects premiums under a policy issued outside Australia to a person
        who was resident outside Australia at the time of issue of the policy;
        or

   (b)  makes payments due under such a policy.
