LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR MARITIME CLAIMS ACT 1989 No. 151 of 1989 - SECT 3

3. (1) In this Act:

"applied provisions" means the provisions of the Convention that, under
section 6, have the force of law in Australia;

"Convention" means the Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime
Claims, 1976 adopted by the International Conference on Limitation of
Liability for Maritime Claims at London on 19 November 1976, a copy of whose
English text is set out in Schedule 1.

(2) Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or expression has the same
meaning in this Act as it has in the Convention.
