RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1992 No. 174, 1992 - SECT 180

Procedures for making technical licence specifications
180.(1) Before making a technical licence specification, the SMA must, so far
as practicable, try to ensure that:

   (a)  interested persons have had adequate opportunity to make
        representations about the proposed technical licence specification;
        and

   (b)  due consideration has been given to any representations so made.

(2) The SMA may make an arrangement with a body to which this subsection
applies under which the body:

   (a)  prepares a draft of a technical licence specification; and

   (b)  publishes the draft technical licence specification; and

   (c)  undertakes a process of public consultation on the draft technical
        licence specification.

(3) Subsection (2) applies to:

   (a)  the Standards Association of Australia; and

   (b)  a Department of State of the Commonwealth; and

   (c)  an authority established under a law of the Commonwealth; and

   (d)  a body or association specified in the regulations.
