STATES GRANTS (UNIVERSITIES) ACT 1976 No. 13, 1976 - SECT 8

8. (1) In relation to each University specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2,
there is payable to the State in which the University is situated, for the
purpose of financial assistance in relation to research expenses of the
University incurred or to be incurred in respect of the year 1976, the amount
specified in respect of the University in Column 2 of that Schedule.

(2) The financial assistance to a State by way of payment of an amount under
this section is granted on the conditions that-

   (a)  the State will, without undue delay, pay that amount to the
        University; and

   (b)  the State will ensure that the amount so paid to the University is
        applied by the University, without undue delay, towards research
        expenses incurred in respect of the year 1976.
