SOCIAL SECURITY LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1992 No. 81, 1992 - SECT 96

96. Section 976 of the Principal Act is amended:

   (a)  by omitting from subsection (1) "subsection (2)" and substituting
        "subsections (2) and (3)";

   (b)  by adding at the end the following subsection: Deductions from
        instalments with recipient's consent

"(3) The Secretary may make deductions from the instalments of child
disability allowance payable to a person if the recipient consents under
section 1234A to the Secretary making the deductions. Note: section 1234A
enables the Secretary to recover a debt from a person other than the debtor if
the person is receiving a pension, benefit or allowance.".
