Appointment of the Chief of the Defence Force

             (1)  The appointment of the Chief of the Defence Force, as in force under the old law immediately before 1 July 2016, has ef fect, on and from that day, as if it had been made under subsection 12(1) of the new law .

Appointment of the Vice Chief of the Defence Force

             (2)  The appointment of the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, as in force under the old law immediately before 1 July 2016, has ef fect, on and from that day, as if it had been made under subsection 12(2) of the new law .

Term of appointment

             (3)  The Chief of the Defence Force and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force continue to hold office for the balance of their term of appointment that remains immediately before 1 July 2016.
