Act No. 41, 1899. An Act to make provision for the election of a Mayor of the Municipality of Campbelltown. [22nd December, 1899.] H E R E A S the office of Mayor of the Municipality of Campbelltown did on the twelfth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, become and now is vacant through the resignation of Edward Sedgwick, the former Mayor, and by reason of the lapse of certain meetings of the council of the said municipality the time provided by law within which a successor should be elected has expired: And whereas it is expedient that power should be given to the said Council to proceed to the election of a Mayor to supply the said vacancy : B e i t therefore enacted by the Queen's Most E x c e l l e n t Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :-- 1. Notwithstanding the lapse of time which has occurred since the resignation of the said Edward Sedgwick, it shall be lawful for the council of the Municipality of Campbelltown to proceed with the election of a Mayor of the said municipality to supply the vacancy caused by the said resignation in all respects as if the said Edward Sedgwick had continued in office till the commencement of this Act and his resignation had only taken effect at the time of such commencement, and such election if otherwise made in accordance with the provisions of the Municipalities A c t , 1897, shall be valid and effectual as if the same had been made within the time prescribed by the said Act. 2. This Act may be cited as the " Campbelltown Municipal Enabling Act, 1899." W
