FARMERS' RELIEF (AMENDMENT) ACT. Act No. 27, 1917. An Act to amend the Farmers' Relief Act, 19321945, in certain respects; to validate certain matters; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 5th December, 1947.] E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South "Wales in Parliament assembled, and bv the authority of the same, as follows :-- 1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the " F a r m e r s ' Belief (Amendment) Act, 1947." (2) The F a r m e r s ' Relief Act, 1932. as amended by subsequent Acts, and by this Act, may be cited as the F a r m e r s ' Iielief Act, 1932-1947. B 2. (1) The F a r m e r s ' Relief Act, 1932, as amended by subsequent Acts, is amended-- (a) by omitting from subsection one of section eight the word "forty-six" and by inserting in lieu thereof the word "forty-eight"; (b) by omitting from subsection eleven of section nine the words and figures " F a r m e r s ' Relief (Amendment) Act, 1945" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words and figures " F a r m e r s ' Relief (Amendment) Act, 1947." (c) by inserting next after section 34ED the follow ing new section:-- 34 EE . For the purposes of this Division, and in addition to any other sufficient method, due tender of payment to a creditor of any amount in accordance with a direction of the Board under this Division shall be deemed to have been made if a banker's draft for such amount made payable to the creditor:-- (a) is delivered to the creditor personally; (b) is left at the last known place of abode or business in or out of New South Wales of the creditor; or (c) is sent by post in a registered letter addressed to the creditor, by name, at his aforesaid place of abode or busi ness and such letter is not returned through the post office undelivered. Such registered letter shall be deemed to have been delivered at the time when the registered letter would in the ordinary course of post be delivered. (2) Paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection one of this section shall be deemed to have commenced upon the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six. PARLIAMENTARY
