GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS (AMENDMENT) ACT. Act No. 35, 1929. An Act to grant leave of absence upon retirement to the Chief Railway Commissioner for New South Wales; to provide for the appointment of his successor, and for the term of office of such successor; to amend the Government Railways Acts, 1912-1928; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 29th November, 1929.] BE E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the ad vice, and consent of the Legis lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :-- 1 . This Act may be cited as the " G o v e r n m e n t Railways (Amendment) Act, 1929," and shall be read with the Government Railways Acts, 1912-1928. 2 . James Eraser, Esquire, C.M.G., is hereby granted leave of absence on full pay for a period of two years commencing on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and shall be deemed to retire on that day from his office of Chief Railway Commissioner for New South Wales. Such leave of absence shall be in full satisfaction of leave to which he is entitled. Any amount necessary to pay his salary during such leave of absence may be paid out of the Government Railways and Tramways Fund without further appro priation than this Act. A.ny superannuation allowance to which he would be entitled on retirement shall commence as from the day following the expiration of such leave of absence. 3 . William James Clea-y, Esquire, is hereby appointed Chief Railway Commissioner for New South Wales as and from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, to hold office subject to the provisions of the G o v e r m e n t Railways Acts, 1912-1928 for the unexpired portion of the term for which the said James Eraser-was appointed and for a further term cf seven years thereafter.
