Act No. 144, 1989 An Act to amend the Minors (Property and Contracts) Act 1970 with respect to the jurisdiction of Local Courts and the District Court. [Assented to 25 October 1989]

Minors (Property and Contracts) Amendment 1989 The Legislature of New South Wales enacts: Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Minors (Property and Contracts) Amendment Act 1989. Commencement 2. This Act commences on a day or days to be appointed by proclamation. Amendment of Minors (Property and Contracts) Act 1970 No. 60 3. The Minors (Property and Contracts) Act 1970 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1 - AMENDMENTS (Sec. 3) (1) Section 27 (Approval of contract or disposition): Omit "seven hundred and fifty dollars" from section 27 (5) (a), insert instead "$10,000". (2) Section 40 (Jurisdiction): (a) Section 40 (3): Omit "six thousand dollars", insert instead "$100,000". (b) Section 40 (4): Omit "seven hundred and fifty dollars", insert instead "$10,000".
