MINISTERS OF THE CROWN ACT. Act No. 4, 1959. An Act to alter the titles of certain Ministers of the Crown ; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 24th September, 1959.] BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: -- 1. This Act may be cited as the "Ministers of the Crown Act, 1959". 2. (1) Where, in any Act, by-law, regulation, ordinance or any other instrument or document whatsoever, of the same or a different kind or nature, a Minister of the Crown is referred to by a title set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Act, such reference shall be read and construed as a reference to the same Minister under the title appearing opposite thereto in the second column of the said Schedule. (2) A Minister of the Crown who at the commence ment of this Act holds office as such under a title set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Act may continue to hold office as such under the title appearing opposite thereto in the second column of the said Schedule. 3. Where any Minister of the Crown to whom section two of this Act refers has been constituted a corporation sole for the purposes of or under any Act-- (a) nothing contained in this Act shall prejudice or affect in any way the continuity of such corporation but the same shall continue notwithstanding the provisions of this Act; (b) (b) the alteration of title effected by this Act shall not affect any property, powers, rights, authorities, duties, functions, liabilities or obligations of any such corporation or render defective any legal or other proceedings instituted or to be instituted by or against such corporation. Any legal or other proceedings may be continued or commenced by or against such corporation by the name appearing in the second column of the Schedule to this Act that might have been continued by or against such corporation by the name appear ing opposite thereto in the first column of the said Schedule. 4. Nothing in this Act shall affect the powers, rights or authorities elsewhere vested in relation to the alteration or change of titles of or the appointment of Ministers of the Crown and upon any such alteration, change or appointment being made the provisions of sections two and three of this Act shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to any such alteration, change or appointment as if the title affected by such altera tion, change or appointment were included in the first column of the Schedule to this Act and the title to be given consequent upon such alteration, change or appointment were included in the second column of the Schedule to this Act opposite the title affected as aforesaid.
