Act No. 66, 1976.
An Act to amend the Public Works (Amendment) Act, 1975, and to amend various other Acts in consequence of the enactment of that Act. [Assented to, 15th November, 1976.]

E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by B and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:--

1. This Act may be cited as the "Public Works and Other Acts (Interest Rates) Amendment Act, 1976".

2. This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on 18th December, 1975.

3. The Public Works amended--

(a) by inserting after section 126A (4) in the matter inserted by Schedule 1 (3) the following subsection:-- (4A) Subject to subsection ( 9 ) , where a taking or acquisition referred to in subsection (1) took effect on or after the commencement of the Public Works (Amendment) Act, 1 9 7 5 , interest is payable under that subsection-- (a) in respect of the period expiring twelve months after the taking or acquisition-- at the rate of four per centum per annum; and (b) in respect of any period later than twelve months after the taking or acquisition-- at the rate specified in respect of that period in a notification under subsection (5).

AMENDMENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1919.

(1) Section 536c (2) ( e l ) -- After section 536c (2) (e), insert:-- ( e l ) by omitting section 126 ( 3 ) ; (2) Section 536c (2) (f) ( i ) -- Omit "subsection (2) of section 126", insert instead "section 126A (1)". (3) Section 536c (2) (f) ( i ) -- Omit "further" wherever occurring. (4) Section 536c (2) (f) (ii)-- Omit the subparagraph.

4. Each Act specified in Column 1 of Schedule 1 is amended in the manner specified opposite that Act in Column 2 of that Schedule.
