An Act to declare the Standard Weight of a Bushel of Maize Wheat Barley Oats Rye Peas and Beans, [\Oth February, 1880.]

H E R E A S i t is e x p e d i e n t to declare t h e s t a n d a r d w e i g h t of a b u s h e l of maize w h e a t barley oats r y e peas a n d b e a n s respec tively Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty b y a n d w i t h t h e advice a n d c o n s e n t of t h e Legislative Council a n d L e g i s l a t i v e A s s e m b l y of N e w S o u t h W a l e s i n P a r l i a m e n t assembled a n d b y t h e a u t h o r i t y of t h e s a m e as follows :-- 1. E v e r y c o n t r a c t b a r g a i n sale or dealing for a n y q u a n t i t y of m a i z e w h e a t b a r l e y oats r y e peas or beans sold delivered or a g r e e d for if sold a t per b u s h e l shall be c o n s t r u e d t o b e a c o n t r a c t for t h e n u m b e r of p o u n d s s t a n d a r d w e i g h t avoirdupois for e a c h b u s h e l as a n n e x e d t o t h e n a m e s of t h e several articles respectively i n t h e Schedule to t h i s A c t a n n e x e d m a r k e d A . 2. N o t h i n g h e r e i n contained shall be h e l d t o a p p l y to a n y c o n t r a c t b a r g a i n sale or dealing for a n y s u c h a g r i c u l t u r a l p r o d u c e as aforesaid m a d e a n d entered i n t o before t h e c o i n i n g i n t o o p e r a t i o n of t h i s A c t or t o a n y c o n t r a c t b a r g a i n sale or d e a l i n g for maize i n t h e cob or peas or b e a n s in t h e pod. 3 . So m u c h of t h e s i x t e e n t h Victoria n u m b e r t h i r t y - f o u r as is inconsistent w i t h t h i s A c t is h e r e b y repealed.
