UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY COLLEGES (AMENDMENT) ACT.

An Act to increase the amount payable yearly by way of permanent endowment for the University of Sydney; for this purpose to amend the University and University Colleges Act, 1900-1937; to validate certain matters; and for purposes connected there with. [Assented to, 21st May, 1948.]
E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : -- 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "University and University Colleges (Amendment) Act, 1948." (2) The University and University Colleges Act, 1900, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the University and University Colleges Act, 1900-1948. 2 . (1) The University and University Colleges Act, 1900-1937, is amended by omitting from subsection one of section twenty-four the words "one hundred thousand p o u n d s " and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "one hundred and twenty-five thousand pounds." (2) Subsection one of this section shall be deemed to have commenced upon the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.
