1998 No 65 New South Wales Lotteries and Art Unions (Temporary Exemption) Amendment Regulation 1998 under the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901. RICHARD FACE, M.P., Minister for Gaming and Racing Explanatory note The object of this Regulation is to prescribe certain specified games of chance for the purposes of section 4A (3) (e) of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 but only if they are conducted by St Patrick's Club Broken Hill Inc. on 27 March 1998. This Regulation will allow St Patrick's Club Broken Hill Inc., on obtaining a permit from the Minister pursuant to section 4A of the Act, to conduct the specified games of chance on the specified date in a manner that will entitle the winners to be awarded money prizes (subject to any other conditions specified in, or under, section 4A of the Act). This Regulation is made under the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901, including sections 4A and 23 (the general regulation-making power). Amendment of Lotteries and Art Unions Regulation 1997 The Lotteries and Art Unions Regulation 1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1. Notes 2 3 The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation. Schedule 1 Clause 98A Amendment (Clause 2) Omit the clause. Insert instead: 98A Games of chance--temporary exemption regarding money prizes For the purposes of section 4A (3) (e) of the Act, the following games conducted by the St Patrick's Club Broken Hill Inc., at its Games Night on 27 March 1998 (and as described in the permit issued by the Minister for that event on that date) are prescribed for that event and on that date only: (a) crown and anchor (wheel or dice), (b) unders and overs (wheel or dice), (c) heads or tails (dice), (d) 1 ­ 6 wheel, (e) money game, (f) dicette, (g) horse game.
