CHILDREN (CARE AND PROTECTION) ACT 1987-- REGULATION
(Relating to certain youth refuges)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Children (Care and Protection) Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Residential Child Care Centres Regulation 1989 is amended by inserting at the end of the matter in Schedule 3 the following paragraph: (h) youth refuges funded jointly by the Commonwealth and the State under the Supported Accommodation Assistance Programme and the Youth Social Justice Strategy.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The purpose of this Regulation is to exclude youth refuges that are funded jointly by the Commonwealth and the State under the Supported Accommodation Assistance Programme and the Youth Social Justice Strategy from the application of the licensing requirements of the Children (Care and Protection) Act 1987 and, consequently, from the application of the Residential Child Care Centres Regulation 1989.
