This Regulation commences on 20 August 1993. Amendment 2. GILBERT EXPLANATORY NOTE The object of this Regulation is to amend the Commercial Vessels (Certificates of Competency and Safety Manning) Regulation 1986 to increase the fees payable in respect of (a) examinations for certificates of competency; and (b) the issue, recognition and revalidation of certificates of competency; and (c) miscellaneous fees. This Regulation is made under the Commercial Vessels Act 1979, including section 52 (the general regulation-making power, in particular, section 52 (1) (j)) and section 30G (3).
