1990 - NO. 423 MEAT INDUSTRY ACT 1978 - REGULATION (Relating to the calculation of meat industry levies) NEW SOUTH WALES [Published in Gazette No. 82 of 29 June 1990] HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Meat Industry Act 1978, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder. The Meat Industry Levy Regulation 1985 is amended by inserting after clause 3 the following clause: Rate of meat industry levy 3A For the purposes of section 59A (2) (a) of the Act, the rate of 0.85 cents for each stock unit equivalent of carrying capacity of the land is prescribed. EXPLANATORY NOTE The object of this Regulation is to amend the Meat Industry Levy Regulation 1985 to prescribe a higher rate for calculating the amount of meat industry levy payable by an occupier of land than the rate (8.8 cents for each stock unit equivalent of carrying capacity of the land) specified in section 59A (2) (a) of the Meat Industry Act 1978. The increased amount of the levy calculated at the higher rate will be payable unless the amount exceeds $60 (which is the maximum levy payable under the Act). 1
