Insert after section 59:
59A Assault during public disorder(1) A person who assaults any person during a large-scale public disorder, although not occasioning actual bodily harm, is liable to imprisonment for 5 years.(2) A person who assaults any person during a large-scale public disorder, and by the assault occasions actual bodily harm, is liable to imprisonment for 7 years.(3) In this section, "public disorder" means a riot or other civil disturbance that gives rise to a serious risk to public safety, whether at a single location or resulting from a series of incidents in the same or different locations.(4) This section is repealed on the second anniversary of the commencement of this section.
Omit "10 years" from section 93B (1). Insert instead "15 years".
Omit "5 years" from section 93C (1). Insert instead "10 years".
