Northern Territory Numbered Acts Northern Territory Numbered Acts(1) The holder of a geothermal exploration permit may, at any time during the term of the permit, apply to the Minister for the grant of 1 or more geothermal retention licences if the permit holder:
(a) has given notice of the discovery of geothermal energy resources in the permit area as required by section 48 ; and
(b) believes the resources are potentially commercially viable.
(2) A proposed licence area may comprise all or part of the permit area.
