4 The application of this rule and rule 353(1) and (2) is modified by regulation 78AAA of the Traffic Regulations 1999 .
5 In relation to paragraph (b), rule 353(1), as modified by regulation 78AAA, specifies that a driver is not required to give way to a pedestrian or rider of a bicycle who is crossing the road that the driver is leaving, and rule 353(2), as modified by regulation 78AAA, provides that a pedestrian or rider of a bicycle who is only crossing a part of a road is considered to be crossing the road.
