Number plate identification requirements for vehicles
237 Number plate identification requirements for vehicles
(1) A person must not drive or ride a vehicle in a protected area if— (a) a
required number plate for the vehicle is not attached to the vehicle; or
(b)
any writing that identifies the vehicle on a required number plate for the
vehicle is not clearly legible.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty
units.
(2) A person does not commit an offence against subsection (1) if
the person has a reasonable excuse.
(3) This section does not apply in
relation to a special wildlife reserve or nature refuge.
(4) In this
section—
"required number plate" , for a vehicle, means a number plate required to be
attached to the vehicle under a vehicle registration Act to operate the
vehicle on a road.
