Buying or accepting macropods taken in another State
22 Buying or accepting macropods taken in another State
(1) The holder, or a relevant person for the holder, of a dealer licence for
dead macropods must not buy or accept, under the licence, a macropod taken in
another State if the holder or relevant person knows, or ought reasonably to
have known, the macropod— (a) is of a species that is not authorised to be
taken under a law of the other State; or
(b) is of a weight or size that is
not authorised to be taken under a law of the other State; or
(c) has been
moved into the State in a way that is not authorised under the Act or a law of
the other State; or
(d) is not tagged in the way required by a law of the
other State.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—120 penalty units.
(2) This
section does not limit the Nature Conservation (Animals) Regulation 2020 ,
section 81 .
