Giving and receiving consideration for the purpose of obtaining towing authorities
86 Giving and receiving consideration for the purpose of obtaining towing
authorities
(1) The holder of an accreditation must not, for the purpose of enabling a
person to obtain a towing authority for a motor vehicle, give consideration to
the authorising person for the vehicle. Penalty— Maximum penalty—40
penalty units.
(2) The holder of an accreditation must not, for the purpose
of enabling a person to obtain a towing authority for a motor vehicle, give
consideration to another person in exchange for the giving of information or
advice about the following matters— (a) the occurrence of an incident, or
the seizure of a motor vehicle, in a regulated area;
(b) the presence on or
near a road in a regulated area of a motor vehicle damaged in an incident;
(c) the presence on a road in a regulated area of a seized motor vehicle.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
(3) A person must not,
for the purpose of enabling another person to obtain a towing authority for a
motor vehicle, receive consideration from the holder of an accreditation in
exchange for the giving of information or advice about a matter mentioned in
subsection (2) . Penalty— Maximum penalty—30 penalty units.
