81—Determination of amounts for medical and legal costs
(1) An award of
damages for a civil wrong must specify the amounts (if any) awarded or agreed
in respect of—
(a)
existing and future medical costs; and
(b)
legal costs.
(2) If the parties to
an agreement between the State and a prisoner for the payment of damages for a
civil wrong are unable to agree on an amount to be specified under
subsection (1), the court must determine the amounts to be specified in
the agreement for the purposes of that subsection, and the agreement is varied
accordingly.
