233—Order for payment against convicted person
(1) If an employer is
convicted of an offence against this Act, the court may, on application by an
employee in respect of whom the offence was committed, order the convicted
person to pay to the applicant an amount due from the convicted person to the
applicant.
(2) On an applicant
under subsection (1), an inspector's certificate will be accepted, in the
absence of proof to the contrary, as proof of an amount due from the convicted
person to the applicant.
(3) An amount that a
convicted person is ordered to pay under this section may be recovered in the
same way as a fine.
