The objects of this Part are—
(a) to
encourage and facilitate the making of agreements governing remuneration,
conditions of employment and other industrial matters at the enterprise or
workplace level; and
(b) to
provide a framework for fair and effective negotiation and bargaining between
employers and employees with a view to the making of such agreements and to
provide for the participation of associations in the process of negotiation
and bargaining; and
(c) to
ensure that award remuneration and conditions of employment operate as a
safety net underpinning the negotiated agreements at the enterprise or
workplace level; and
(d) to
provide for improved flexibility in conditions of employment at the enterprise
and workplace level with consequent increases in efficiency and productivity.
