This legislation has been repealed.
(1) A
Government school cannot be closed or amalgamated with another
Government school except in accordance with this Part.
(2) However, this Part
does not apply—
(a) to
the temporary closure of a Government school in an emergency or for the
purposes of carrying out building work; or
(b) to
the closure of a Government school if—
(i)
a majority of the parents of the students attending the
school; or
(ii)
where the school is wholly or principally for adult
students—a majority of the students attending the school,
indicate that they are not opposed to the closure.
