This legislation has been repealed.
117—The Natural Resources Management Fund
(1) There will be a
fund kept in a separate account at the Treasury to be called the
Natural Resources Management Fund .
(2) The NRM Fund will
consist of—
(a) any
money provided by Parliament for the purposes of the fund; and
(b)
grants, gifts and loans made to the Minister for payment into the fund; and
(c) any
income arising from the investment of the fund under subsection (3)
; and
(d) the
prescribed percentage of fees (other than expiation fees) paid under this Act;
and
(e)
expiation fees and the prescribed percentage of penalties recovered in respect
of offences against this Act; and
(f) all
other money that is required or authorised by or under this Act or any other
law to be paid into the fund.
(3) Any money in the
NRM Fund that is not for the time being required for the purposes of this Act
may be invested by the Minister after consultation with the Treasurer.
(4) The Minister may
apply any part of the NRM Fund—
(a) in
making payments to regional NRM boards; or
(b) in
paying subsidies or making grants or other payments to NRM authorities or
other persons or bodies for the purposes of this Act; or
(c) in
satisfying any requirements to use levies for a particular purpose; or
(d) in
refunding a levy under Part 1 ; or
(e) for
any other purpose to further the objects of this Act or to support the
operation or administration of this Act; or
(f) in
making any other payment required or authorised by or under this Act or any
other law.
