FACT SHEET coNSoLtDATED FUND APPROPRTATTON BILL (NO. 2) 2011 The Consolidated Fund Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2011 will be introduced into Parliament on 16 June 2011. The Government gave a commitment in the 2006 Sfafe of the Sfafe address that separate appropriations would be made to the Parliamentary and independent agencies. Accordingly, appropriations to the House of Assembly, Legislative Council, Legislature-General, Office of the Governor, and Office of the Ombudsman were provided in a separate Appropriation Bill for the first time in 2007-08. To fulfil the Government's commitment, the Tasmanian Audit Office was included in the Consolidated Fund Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2008. This appropriation was previously included as part of Finance-General. As a result of the Government's response to the recommendations in the final report of the Joint Select Committee on Ethical Conduct ('Public Office is Public Trust') the following changes were reflected in 2010. . Two new agencies - the lntegrity Commission and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, were included for the first time in the information for the Consolidated Fund Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2010. The appropriation for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was previously included in the Department of Justice. . Clause 3 (b) of the Consolidated Fund Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2010 was amended fo read "apply that sum for the services of the Parliament and Statutory Offices" rather than "apply that sum for the services of Government" as read in the Consolidated Fund Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2009. The Bill provides funding of $27 511 000 to meet expenditure requirements of the Parliamentary and independent agencies for the 2011-12 financial year.
