(1)  The Director of Gas or the Director of Gas Safety may appoint suitable persons as authorised officers.

(2)  An authorised officer may, but need not, be an employee within the meaning of the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984 .

(3)  In the exercise of the authorised officer's powers, the authorised officer is subject to control and direction by the relevant Director.
