(1) The Director of Public Health may appoint a State Service officer or State Service employee employed in the Department to be an authorised officer for the purposes of this Act, and that officer or employee may hold that office in conjunction with State Service employment.(2) The Director of Public Health, with the consent of a Head of a State Service Agency other than the Department, may appoint a State Service officer or State Service employee employed in that Agency to be an authorised officer for the purposes of this Act, and that officer or employee may hold that office in conjunction with State Service employment.(3) The Director of Public Health may authorise a person who is not a State Service officer or State Service employee to perform the functions and exercise the powers of an authorised officer for the purposes of this Act.
