After section 9 of the Principal Act , the following section is inserted in Division 3:

9A.     Notification of transactions to police

(1)  A second-hand dealer or pawnbroker must, within 24 hours after receiving any prescribed second-hand goods, notify the Commissioner of Police in the prescribed manner of details of the transaction.

(2)  A second-hand dealer or pawnbroker who contravenes subsection (1) is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
