Any record, document or other thing seized under these regulations may be retained for so long as is necessary for the purposes of investigating whether the Act or these regulations have been, or are being, contravened and, if required, for the purposes of any subsequent prosecution.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations prescribe –

(a) requirements for the identification of a deceased person; and

(b) requirements for the construction of coffins; and

(c) procedures to be observed in the conduct of businesses for the handling, transport and storage of a deceased person; and

(d) requirements for vehicles used in the transport of a deceased person; and

(e) the powers of authorised officers.
