The owner of a prescribed building in which fire protection equipment has been installed in accordance with the General Fire Regulations 1975 or any other relevant Act or regulation must, as far as reasonably practicable, ensure that the equipment is maintained by an appropriately qualified person so that the equipment performs to the standard to which it was originally designed.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 52 penalty units and, for a continuing offence, a further fine not exceeding 1 penalty unit for each day during which the offence continues.
